Token

A Token is a device used as authentication for the Bank. It serves as a secret code that allows Customer to conduct financial and nonfinancial transactions, such as Password reset, personal data modification, etc., through Danamon Online Banking in which the usage authority belongs solely to the Customer. Token can be in form of a Hardware Token (also mentioned as Danamon Token) and SMS Token. The Customer can only possess one Token at one time and its usage must follow the Bank's regulation.

Hardware Token

Hardware Token is a device that generates secret code which can be One Time Password (OTP) or Challenge Response according to the instruction submitted to the Hardware Token.

You have to enter PIN Token on the Hardware Token to get started. Please ensure that you have changed your PIN Token that you received from PIN Token Mailer and do not share your PIN Token to others.

Hardware Token Usage Guide :

  1. Hardware Token Button
    • Button
      You can use button to :
      • Activate or deactivate Hardware Token.
      • Delete data that has been entered into Hardware Token.
      • Change PIN Token (click here for more info).
    • Method Option Button
      On APPLI- position, button 1 and 2 are used for :
      • Choose button 1 (APPLI 1) if you are required to use the method that shows Token Code directly in the form of One Time Password (OTP).
      • Choose button 2 (APPLI 2) if you are required to use the method that requires you to input data (Challenge Code) to get the Token Code (Response Code).
  2. Change PIN Token
    • Activate the Hardware Token by pressing button on the keypad.
    • Display on Hardware Token screen :
    • Enter 6 (six) digits of your old PIN Token (for the first PIN Token change, your old PIN Token is the PIN that you received on PIN Token Mailer, together with the Hardware Token).
    • Display on Hardware Token screen :
    • Press for 3 (three) seconds until there is change on the Hardware Token screen.
    • Display on Hardware Token screen :
    • Enter the new PIN Token (6 digits), you can create your new PIN Token (click here for more info).
    • Display on Hardware Token screen :
    • Re-enter your new PIN Token.
    • If all the steps are performed correctly, display on Hardware Token screen :
      and
    • Press button one more time to deactive your Hardware Token.
    • PIN Token change process has been completed.
  3. Transaction
    1. APPLI 1 (One Time Password)
      On Hardware Token
      • Activate the Hardware Token by pressing button on keypad.
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Enter 6 (six) digits of your PIN Token.
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Press 1 (one) on keypad.
      • Display on Hardware Token screen will be the 8 (eight) digits One Time Password (OTP) (example : 87654321).

      On computer

      • Click "Submit" after ensuring that all information entered is correct.

      On Hardware Token
      • Press button to return to APPLI_ menu.
      • Or press button one more time to deactive your Hardware Token.
      • Transaction process using Hardware Token (APPLI 1 method) has been completed.
    2. APPLI 2 (Challenge Response)
      On Hardware Token
      • Activate the Hardware Token by pressing on keypad.
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Enter 6 (six) digits of your PIN Token.
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Press 2 (two) on keypad, and the Hardware Token will display :

      • Enter the numbers that are shown as the Challenge Code on the computer screen (example : 34567890)
      • Display on Hardware Token screen will be 8 (eight) digits Response Code (example : 87654321).

      On Hardware Token
      • Press button to return to APPLI_ menu.
      • Or press button to deactive the device.
      • Transaction process using Hardware Token (APPLI 2 method) has been completed.
  4. Unlock Hardware Token after entering wrong PIN Token for 3 (three) consecutive attempts
    If your Hardware Token is locked, contact Hello Danamon at 1-500-090.
    • Hello Danamon
      • Hello Danamon officer will ask Challenge Code that is shown on your Hardware Token.
    • On Hardware Token
      • Activate Token Hardware by pressing button on keypad.
      • Hardware Token will display 7 (seven) digits number (example : 1234567).
      • Mention the 7 (seven) digits number to Hello Danamon Officer.
    • Hello Danamon
      • Hello Danamon officer will enter the number into the system.
      • Hello Danamon officer will give you Response Number (8 digits) that is generated by the system.
    • On Hardware Token
      • Press button on keypad when the screen displays .
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Enter 8 (eight) digits Response Number that is given by Hello Danamon officer (example : 34358888)
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Enter new PIN Token (6 digits), you can create new PIN Token (click here for more info).
      • Display on Hardware Token screen :
      • Re-enter your new PIN Token.
      • If all the steps are performed correctly, display on Hardware Token screen :
        and
      • Press button one more time to deactive the Hardware Token.
      • Unlock Hardware Token process has been completed.
  5. Reset Hardware Token after entering wrong Token Code for 3 (three) consecutive attempts
    Contact Hello Danamon and the officer will reset the Hardware Token, so it can be used for transaction.
  6. Hardware Token is lost
    Immediately report to Hello Danamon or nearest Danamon branch to block or deactivate the Hardware Token, and to get a replacement of a Hardware Token, you can visit the nearest Danamon branch.
  7. Hardware Token is damaged
    Go to the nearest Danamon branch to get a Hardware Token replacement.

Important for your secure transaction

  • Read the Hardware Token Usage Guide carefully.
  • Check the Hardware token. If there is any damage on the device, ask for a replacement from the branch where you collect the device.
  • Check PIN Token Mailer condition. If there is any damaged parts, ask for a replacement.
  • Change PIN Token after you receive the Hardware Token and PIN Token Mailer (click here for more info)
  • You can use your Hardware Token after being activated by the Bank (at the earliest 24 hours after you collect the device).
  • Keep your Hardware Token well. Do not lend your Hardware Token or share you PIN Token to others.
  • Change the PIN Token regurally (click here for more info).
  • For security purpose, the battery on the Hardware Token cannot be replaced.


Tips :

  1. Create PIN Token
    Make sure the security aspects when creating PIN Token, such as :
    • Do not create PIN Token using number in sequence, example : '123456'.
    • Do not create PIN Token using repeated number, example : '888888'.
    • Do not create PIN Token that consists of date of birth, phone number or other numbers that are predictable or easy to remember by others.
    • Do not save PIN Token on computer or places that are easy to be accessed by others.
  2. Hardware Token Security Info
    • One Hardware Token can only be linked with one Danamon Online Banking User ID.
    • Hardware Token can only be used by the owner and is not transferable to other parties.
    • Hardware Token cannot be used for purposes other than for the specified Bank transactions.
    • Hardware Token will be deactivated if it is idle for 45 seconds.
    • Hardware Token will be automaticlly locked if customer enters the wrong PIN Token for 3 (three) consecutive attempts (click here for more info).
    • Hardware Token will be automaticlly locked if customer enters the wrong Token Code for 3 (three) consecutive attempts when transacting using Danamon Online Banking (click here for more info).

  • Bank has given sufficient information regarding Hardware Token that will be used by the owner and the owner has understood all the consequences that include benefits, risks, and costs* of the Hardware Token.
  • Any consequence due to misuse of PIN Token and Hardware Token are the Hardware Token's owner responsibility.   • Hardware Token Usage Guide is an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions of Danamon Online Banking.

SMS Token

SMS Token can be activated via EDC PINPad from Danamon Conventional Branch by choosing Internet Banking menu and then selecting Aktivasi SMS Token.


An SMS Token is a One-Time Password (OTP) that serves as a Secret Code which is sent by the Bank via SMS to the mobile phone number submitted to Danamon Online Banking. This code serves as a response to Banking transactions made by Customer at Danamon Online Banking.

Token Code (One Time Password) will be sent to mobile phone via SMS for each transaction after "Preview" button is clicked.

Hardware Token

  • Danamon ATM by choosing Electronic Banking menu and then selecting Internet Banking SMS Token Activation.
